In week 3, the software team focused on refining and organising the MATLAB data plotting code, ensuring that the coordinates on the third-floor map accurately corresponded to the actual measurements. They ran simulations of the code to evaluate its output in test scenarios, refining the visualisations and addressing issues as they arose. The team resolved bugs related to image distortion, incorrect axis output, and other inconsistencies to ensure the plotted results accurately represented real-world conditions. They also continued tidying the codebase, aligning the system for smooth integration and preparing it for the upcoming data collection. This setup was crucial to ensure the hardware team could proceed with effective testing. In addition to these improvements, the software team began planning the structure and development of the tomography algorithm, laying the groundwork for its implementation in the following week and outlining how the collected data would be visualised to generate meaningful insights.
Once the software adjustments were completed, the hardware team conducted an initial round of testing to validate the system’s performance. Their goal was to ensure the code functioned optimally ahead of the final data collection in week 4. This testing helped identify any issues, allowing for adjustments before the software team made final performance-based enhancements. The focus remained on confirming system reliability and readiness for the comprehensive data collection phase.
